Delivery information at Aquarium Gardening.
When will my order be delivered?
- We dispatch orders Monday to Thursday only. We do this to ensure that parcels will invariably be only one day en route. This ensures the quality and freshness of the plants. Dry goods will be shipped Monday through Fridays.
- We send in England and Wales by Signed delivery by Business Post. You can opt to have the goods left unsigned, or in the garage, or with a neighbour etc, on our order form.
- In Scotland, Isle of Wight and Northern Ireland we dispatch via Royal Mail first class with signed delivery, which Royal Mail insures up to £30. If un-signed delivery is required please indicate so on the order form (Royal Mail will not insure this delivery in case of loss).
What methods of payment do you accept?
- We accept Visa or Master Card, and related debit cards; we do not accept American Express. You can alternatively send a Postal or Money order for payment to our head office address (see find us details). Minimum order is £25.00.
How is postage calculated?
- Postage is calculated according to weight and the costs range from £4.50 - £6.50, on order from 2-5 Kg. unless otherwise specified.
What if my delivery needs a signature and I am not home?
- If you have opted for a signed delivery, please specify secondary arrangements in the comments section of your order form e.g. 'Leave with neighbour at No.7' to ensure that the delivery is completed. If you have not specified alternative arrangements and your delivery is not completed, there will be an additional charge of £7.30 inc. VAT for subsequent delivery attempts. We are not able to obtain contract rates for failed deliveries and the charge is a flat rate, irrespective of consignment weight.
- This charge is necessary to recover some of the costs incurred by ourselves from the couriers and is only charged when you have not specified an alternative arrangement, in the comments section, for signed delivery.
When will my card be debited?
- Your card will normally be debited on receipt of your order and dispatched as per the delivery schedule above. In the case of special orders or stock issues, we will not debit your card and will contact you via telephone to make further arrangements.
What if some of my order is out of stock?
We typically have over 90% of the plants offered in stock, and we will ship your order as it is, without any out of stock item. Please indicate in the comments area on the order page, if you wish us to -
- a) Only ship those goods in which are in stock.
- b) Ship any out of stock item with similar plant at about the same price.
- c) Inform you by telephone when all items may be able to be shipped.
- d) Ask us to ship back ordered items when available (up to 1 month maximum). If we are asked to this, the back order items will be dispatched as they become available; with no additional postal charges.
What happens if a plant gets damaged?
- We take pride that we only ship plants in first-rate condition. Should you have any reason to be dissatisfied, please telephone us within 24 hours, so we can take steps to rectify the matter.
How can I distinguish between the items upon arrival?
- All plants are labelled, so you will be quite sure of each species, and by referring to our web pages, know the preferred conditions each of the species.
How difficult are your collections to plant out?
- All collections come not only with the plants, but also with a planting schematic, so you only need to follow this to reproduce the scene you selected. In addition each collection comes with it's own individual maintenance sheet, to assist you to keep the scene looking at it's best.
